Gildredge House occupies a pleasant leafy site on the edge of the South Downs within ten minutes’ easy walk of Eastbourne station and the town centre. The Sixth Form has its own stand-alone wing in Temple Grove with spacious seminar-style teaching rooms, dedicated study areas and computer suite. The well-designed facilities are enhanced by a fast and accessible computer network, WiFi throughout the building, and hardware including laptops, tablets and digital screens. Sixth Form students can also take advantage of the subject-specific facilities throughout the rest of the site.

Sixth Form Exam Results

The Gildredge House Sixth Form has been recognised nationally by receiving a prestigious award for our outstanding Key Stage 5 results. The award is based on 2019 data provided by the Department for Education and Teachers network. Gildredge House was found to be among the best performing non-selective Sixth Forms in the country, receiving an award for being in the top 10% nationally for student attainment at Key Stage 5 in academic subjects.

Welcome to our Sixth Form Open Afternoon! I am delighted to invite you to our open event for parents and prospective Sixth Form students. Gildredge House is a welcoming place and we hope you will get a feel for our warm atmosphere and our family approach to education.
Sixth Form Courses
We offer a range of A Level courses as well as BTECs that will prepare students for a wide variety of destinations, from Oxford, Cambridge and Russell Group Universities, to apprenticeships and local employment. We expect students to meet academic challenges, discover their passions, develop confidence, contribute positively to society, be resilient and become independent thinkers prepared for successful and fulfilling lives.
How to Apply
Applications for the Sixth Form should be made through Careers East Sussex. Students currently studying in East Sussex will have received login details from their Secondary school. Alternatively, students can register for an account online.
16-19 Bursary Fund
16-19 Bursary Fund Policy and Guidelines 2021-22
The decision to authorise payments will be made by the Bursary Panel. The Bursary Panel will meet on a termly basis to consider requests for financial assistance. Panel meetings will happen every term on the Monday immediately after the deadline. In order to be eligible for a bursary payment, students will need to complete the Bursary Application Form prior to this meeting. The Panel’s deliberations and decision will be based upon the guidance provided by the DfE.
