GCSE Results 2022

25 Aug 22

After three years of disrupted studies and the first year of public examinations since the pandemic, we are delighted with the achievements of all our Year 11 students.

Head Teacher Craig Bull said, “Despite studying through a pandemic, our students have done extremely well. Their results are the culmination of dedication, perseverance, and support from their parents and our staff. It was fantastic to see the joy in their faces as they collected their results and celebrated together.”

An impressive 50% of all students achieved at least one grade 7 or higher and 22% of our students achieved 5 or more grade 7 to 9s (A* to A). Special congratulations must go to Ben B, Tadeusz T, Jolie P, Charlie P, Finn O and Blythe A, who all achieved a grade 8 or 9 in all their GCSEs.

The results across subjects have been very positive this year, demonstrating the expertise and hard work of all our specialist teachers at Gildredge House.

Exceptional performance of over 40% of students achieving grade 7 to 9 was obtained in Biology, Chemistry, Music, Physical Education and Spanish.

There were strong pass rates at grade 4 or higher in Art (86%), Triple Science (100%), Drama (82%), German (80%), History (84%), Maths (80%), French (88%), Physical Education (90%), Religious Studies (92%), Sport BTEC (97%).

We look forward to welcoming many of our existing students back in September and students from the Eastbourne community to further their learning journey in our Sixth Form.
