At Gildredge House we are proud to be able to say that we place high importance on mental health and wellbeing as we know that this is essential if students are to reach their potential and live happy fulfilled lives. It is important that students feel valued and supported and know where to go if they feel they need additional support.

ChatHealth

School nurse messaging service provides support and advice on any health issues from a school nurse via text. Young people aged 11-19 can text 07507 332473.

Childline is the UK’s free helpline for children and young people. Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

CAMHS supports children and young people across East Sussex who have behavioural, emotional or mental health problems. Referrals to the service must be made by a parent/carer or professional working with the child to the East Sussex Single Point of Advice.

Child Bereavement UK

Child Bereavement UK - Child Bereavement UK

They help families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. They support children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying.

They offer free confidential bereavement support for individuals, couples, children, young people, and families, by telephone, video or instant messenger, wherever you live in the UK.

Kidscape

Kidscape are the first charity in the UK established specifically to prevent bullying and sexual abuse. The website offers advice and practical skills on how to deal with bullying. If you are being bullied, you may feel scared, vulnerable and quite alone but you owe it to yourself to try and sort out the situation so that the bullying stops.

Fegans

They aim to provide families most in need of parenting or therapeutic support with the care they require to become self-sufficient contributors to society and break generational cycles of behaviour. They provide a full range of professional counselling services in their centres and also in primary and secondary schools for children as well as support workers that work with parents.
