Examination Results

Gildredge House publishes the latest examination and assessment results here.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) results

Good Level of Development (GLD) 

  • 72% of Reception students achieved GLD (compared to the National average of 62% in 2020)

Year 1 results

Phonics

  • 87% of Year 1 students met the expected standard of phonic decoding (compared to the National average of 82% in 2019)
  • 82% of Year 1 students met the expected standard of phonic decoding

Key Stage 1 (KS1) results

These are Teacher Assessments as a result of the statutory end of Key Stage 1 assessments not taking place in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Key Stage 2 (KS2) results

These are Teacher Assessments as a result of the statutory end of Key Stage 2 assessments not taking place in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Key Stage 4 (KS4) results

The Progress 8 Score for KS4 in August 2019 was -0.06

The following results are Centre Assessed Grades due to the statutory end of Key Stage 4 assessments not taking place in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Centre Assessment Grades for August 2020 are as follows:

Attainment 8 Score

  • 50.0 (compared to the National score of 50.0 in 2020)

English and Maths

  • 76% of Year 11 students achieved a Grade 4+ (compared to the National average of 67.1% in 2020)
  • 46% of Year 11 students achieved a strong pass (Grade 5 or above).

English Language

  • 86% of Year 11 students achieved a Grade 4+ (compared to the National average of 71.2% in 2020)
  • 19% of Year 11 students achieved a Grade 7+ (compared to the National average of 18.7% in 2020)

English Literature

  • 83% of Year 11 students achieved a Grade 4+ (compared to the National average of 79.7% in 2020)
  • 24% of Year 11 students achieved a Grade 7+ (compared to the National average of 24% in 2020)

Mathematics

  • 80% of Year 11 students achieved a Grade 4+ (compared to the National average of 66.6% in 2020)
  • 19% of Year 11 students achieved a Grade 7+ (compared to the National average of 19% in 2020)

English Baccalaureate (EBacc.)

  • 59.2% of students were entered for the EBacc.
  • 20.6% of students achieved Grade 4+ in the EBacc.
  • The EBacc. Average Point Score is 4.7

Post Year 11 Progression

The majority of students (93% October 2020 data) who leave Year 11 at Gildredge House, go stay in education or undertake employment.

Key Stage 5 (KS5) results

Post Sixth Form Progression

The vast majority of our students leave Sixth Form and progress onto University. Last year, the most popular subjects for our students to read at University were Law, History, Psychology and Engineering. 10% of our students have enrolled at Russell group Universities. The Russell Group represents 24 of the leading research Universities in the United Kingdom.

In September 2019, 24% of our cohort enrolled at Russell Group Universities and 33% of the Class of 2019 went on to study Medicine, Dentistry or Physiotherapy.

The examination results for KS5 in August 2019 are as follows:

A* – A:

  • 29% of Year 13 students achieved Grades A* – A (compared to 26% National 2018)

A* – C:

  • 80% of Year 13 students achieved Grades A* – C (compared to 77% National 2018)

A* – E:

  • 100% of Year 13 students achieved Grades A* – E (compared to 98% National 2018)
