You will be aware that the Prime Minister has today announced that schools will be closed for all but the most vulnerable of students and for children of key workers. Therefore, Gildredge House will close from Friday 20th March for the majority of children. We will be operating a reduced staff structure in order to provide for a small number of students. The students I expect in school are from two key groups:
Vulnerable students – those with an EHCP and those under the care of a social worker. The exception here is those who are already self-isolating.
Students of key workers who don’t have the capacity for any childcare arrangements – Key workers are NHS, Police, Fire Service, Food Delivery Drivers, School Staff and those working in Adult Social Care. The point here is to enable these key workers to go to work.
With the continued outbreak of Coronavirus and the school running with fewer staff, it is vital that the majority of students stay at home. Our online learning materials will be in place shortly and I will be issuing further guidance on how to support your child learning from home in due course.
It is essential that we know which children will be coming into school on Monday. There will be a further data collection form sent out tomorrow to register for this provision.
Thank you for your cooperation at this difficult time.
