Mrs Gilbert bids farewell to Gildredge House

Wednesday night’s farewell event was a wonderful celebration of the birth of Gildredge House and my four years as Head Teacher here. My PA Miss Richardson masterminded the evening and managed the incredible feat of pulling off a school event that I knew absolutely nothing about until the very last minute.

Another Busy Week at Gildredge House!

Our students enjoyed a rich array of activities for Wednesday’s Activity Field Day. Year 7 had a Geography field day exploring the town plan of Eastbourne and comparing it with the Burgess Model. Year 8 experienced a ‘game of two halves’ between History and Sport.

Spring Concert Showcases Gildredge House Talent

Wednesday night’s Spring Concert was a great success on so many levels, showcasing our students’ talent, creativity and sheer enjoyment of music-making. This time they also showcased the children’s creativity in composition and improvisation, which was fantastic to see.

Prospective Sixth Form Students’ Pizza Evening

Students holding offers to come to the Sixth Form at Gildredge House joined with other interested Year 11 students, staff and current Sixth Form students for an enjoyable evening sharing pizza.

Gildredge House joins the Campaign for Fair and Sufficient Funding

This week I was one of dozens of Head Teachers in East Sussex to to write to our MP about the looming education funding crisis – with almost all our county’s schools represented - and the targeted communication was part of an orchestrated campaign across four counties in the South of England: Essex, Cornwall and East and West Sussex.
