New Year 7 Parents Visit Gildredge House

On Wednesday we welcomed parents of our new Year 7 students joining us in September. Firstly, I was struck by how time seems to be flying by. It was almost two years to the day since we received planning permission for our extensive building development and here we were hosting a welcome meeting for our third cohort of Year 7.

Open Day Welcomes Prospective Students and Parents

On Saturday 9th May, we held our annual whole-school Open Day. This was very well-attended (c.550 visitors), which seemed to indicate that this was a popular time of year for such an event. I am grateful to every parent, teacher, student and member of support staff who supported Open Day.

Gildredge House Mock Election Captures the Imagination of our Students

This week’s Gildredge House Mock Election certainly captured the imagination and interest of our students. It began for six of our Year 8 students with a visit to The Birley Centre to watch the Great Debate and Hustings for the parliamentary candidates at the end of April.

What a remarkable performance. What discipline, what stage presence, what polish by minor as well as major parts. What imaginative direction, what intelligence, one of the many jewels in the GH crown!

Summer Sport Season gets off to a Great Start

Gildredge House sports teams have had some success this week against local teams. The U14 XI Cricket team launched their County Cup campaign with a winning game against Blatchington Mill, Hove on Monday.
