Year 9 students are first ever winners of Ian Gow Memorial Cup for public speaking

On Tuesday I was proud to accompany three of our students to the inaugural public speaking competition for Year 9 students in Eastbourne. The chosen topic was ‘Democracy’ which was particularly appropriate, given that the inspiration for the competition came from our MP Caroline Ansell, and she in turn was inspired by the memory of Ian Gow, MP for Eastbourne

Prospective Sixth Form Students Welcomed at Gildredge House

We held a very successful Sixth Form Open Evening on Tuesday, attracting hundreds of visitors from all over Eastbourne. I welcomed prospective students and parents with an introductory talk about the school’s ethos and expectations.

Gildredge House Remembers

On Wednesday 11th November the school community made Armistice Day its focus, with a poignant act of remembrance. The event served to illustrate by just how much our school has grown, with over 400 students and staff participating, which meant that we had to use two locations for the initial gathering.

First Gildredge House Rugby Tour Success

Our two week half term break has been a particularly enjoyable holiday as we can all relax and prepare ourselves for the busy weeks ahead leading up to Christmas.
