Joyful 'Topping Out' Ceremony on the Gildredge House rooftop today!

Today was another landmark in the life of our school as we celebrated with our builders Willmott Dixon the ‘topping out’ of the site development project. We were delighted that our traditional ‘topping out’ ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Eastbourne, Councillor Janet Coles.

Year 7 Students Enjoy Activity Field Week

This has been our first Activity Field Week at Gildredge House – a packed and sometimes exhausting five days of extreme activity, learning and fun. Ninety-nine of our intrepid students set off for Blackland Farm on Monday and had an amazing few days kayaking, climbing, abseiling, grass sledging, zip wire descending, ghost walk and campfire barbecue-ing.

A warm welcome for new members of our community

This week has been all about welcoming new members to our community. First of all, last Saturday morning we had our Teddy Bears’ Picnic and I found myself asking ‘Has it really been a year since we had our first event like this for our current Reception students?’

Gildredge House to open Sixth Form from September 2015!

We are delighted to announce that, following our public Consultation earlier this year, the Secretary of State for Education has approved our proposal to open our Sixth Form in 2015.
